✞ Download New Living Translation NLTHolyBible ✞The goal of any Bible translation is to convey the meaning oftheancient Hebrew and Greek texts as accurately as possible tothemodern reader. The New Living Translation is based on themostrecent scholarship in the theory of translation. The challengeforthe translators was to create a text that would make thesameimpact in the life of modern readers that the original text hadforthe original readers. In the New Living Translation, thisisaccomplished by translating entire thoughts (rather thanjustwords) into natural, everyday English. The end result isatranslation that is easy to read and understand and thataccuratelycommunicates the meaning of the original text.

The Jubilee Bible istheonly translation we know of today that has each unique Hebrewwordmatched and mated to a unique English word so that theusage(number of occurrences and number of verses where the wordoccurs)sets forth both a very meaningful number pattern and acompletedefinition of what God means by each word.

Douay Rheims Holy Bible 1.0
The Douay–Rheims Bible is a translation oftheBible from the Latin Vulgate into English made by members oftheCatholic seminary English College, Douai, France. It isthefoundation on which nearly all English Catholic versions arestillbased. It was translated principally by Gregory Martin,anOxford-trained scholar, working in the circle of EnglishCatholicexiles on the Continent, under the sponsorship of William(laterCardinal) Allen. The New Testament appeared at Rheims in1582; theOld Testament at Douai in 1609.The translation, although competent, exhibited a tasteforLatinisms that was not uncommon in English writing of the timebutseemed excessive in the eyes of later generations. TheNewTestament influenced the Authorized Version.
ICB Children’s Bible 1.0
The International Children’s Bible is notastorybook or a paraphrased Bible. It is a translation of God’sWordfrom the original Hebrew and Greek languages.God intended for everyone to be able to understand hisWord.Earliest Scriptures were in Hebrew, ideally suited for abarelyliterate society because of its economy of words, acrosticliteraryform and poetic parallelism. The New Testament was firstwritten inthe simple Greek of everyday life, not in the Latin ofRoman courtsor the classical Greek of the academies. Even Jesus, the MasterTeacher, taught spiritual principles by comparing them tosuchfamiliar terms as pearls, seeds, rocks, trees and sheep. It isforthis same purpose of making the Scriptures intelligible thatthistranslation was created. It is with great humility and prayerfulness that this Bibleispresented to God’s children, young and old. We acknowledgetheinfallibility of God’s Word and our own human frailty. We praythatGod has worked through us as his vessels so that his peoplemightlearn his truth for themselves and that it might richly growintheir lives. It is to his glory that this Bible is given.

Wycliffe Bible WYC 1.0
The "Early Version" of the "WycliffeBible",hand-printed about 1382, has long been criticized byBiblehistorians as too literal, often unintelligible, cumbersome, atbest a deeply flawed 1st attempt. In fact, much of the Gospelsandthe Apocalypse were transferred without significant change fromthe"Early Version" to the "Later Version", and closely resemblethe"Wycliffe-Purvey" text. However, it is also true that when the "Early Version"isdirectly compared to the "Later Version", the "Early Version"is,overall, a less satisfying read. It is not so finely tunedandcontains many more italicized glosses which interrupt theflow. That is why hand-written variations of the "Later Version"becamethe foundation upon which the King James Version (KJV) wasbuilt. But, as was stated earlier, comparing all threeversionsside-by-side, it becomes clear that the KJV translatorsrejectednumerous revisions made in the "Later Version", and choseinsteadindividual words and phraseology found in one variant oranother ofthe "Early Version". Why did they do this? Simply put, incountlesspassages of the "Early Version", both the poetry of thelanguageand fidelity to the original Greek text are superior tothat foundin the "Later Version".As the words contained within the square bracketsin"Wycliffe-Purvey" readily demonstrate, the KJVtranslatorsrepeatedly followed the "Early Version", rather than the"LaterVersion", in regard to prepositions ("the" in "EV" replacedby "a"in "LV"), verb forms (e.g., "saying" and "sitting" in "EV"replacedby "said" and "sat" in "LV"), and phrase order within averse("a/b/c" in "EV" rearranged into "b/a/c" in "LV").But of greatest consequence are almost one hundredsignificantwords that appear in the "Early Version", which werelater copiedin the KJV, but which are not found in the equivalent"LaterVersion" verses. Translation is an inexact science. A singlewordcan often be rendered several ways (as the "Wycliffe"versionsthemselves amply demonstrate). Therefore theselinguisticagreements between the "Early Version" and the KJV aremeaningful.Examples include: "unction" ("anointing" in "LV"),"allegory"("understanding" in "LV"), "mystery" ("private" in "LV"),"liberty"("freedom" in "LV"), "captive" ("prisoner" in "LV"),"Caesar"("emperor" in "LV"), "prize" ("reward" in "LV"), "wisemen"("astrologers" in "LV"), "veil" ("covering" in "LV"),"faith"("unbelief" in "LV"), "concision" ("division" in "LV"), and"sand"("gravel" in "LV"). These words, and many others, werefirstintroduced into the English New Testament lexicon in the1382"Early Version" of the "Wycliffe Bible". More than twohundredyears later, they were utilized again by the KJVtranslators.

New Life Version NLV 1.0
The NEW LIFE Version, available SINCE 1969-continues to be the most readable and most understandableBiblewithout sacrificing accuracy. It is not a paraphrase, or man'sideaof what the Bible says. Truths expressed in the original are innoway violated. Leading clergy from most denominations endorseandapprove its use. This unique translation is gender-correct (same as the KingJamesVersion). All pronouns referring to Deity are capitalized.Shortsentences are used with the subject usually preceding thepredicate. No contractions are used. Many paragraphs are precededwith captionswhich summarize the content. There are no confusingfoot-notes. Noobscene words are used in the text. Most OldTestament quotations inthe New Testament are followed by thereference. Most words are limited to one meaning - a must for newreadersand people learning English as a second language! Example:To read"Paul stood before the court" could mean that Paul stood upfirst, then the court stood up. NEW LIFE Text would read "Paul stoodinfront of the court." The wording "A great storm came up" isneverused. The word "great" is reserved for something good.Other examples that make the NEW LIFE Text easy to read: Tomostunchurched people, the words "being saved" means fromphysicaldanger or death. The words used in the NEW LIFE Text are:"beingsaved from the punishment of sin," thus clarifying andpreservingthe important meaning."For God did not send His Son into the world to say it isguilty. He sent His Son so the world might be saved from thepunishment ofsin by Him." John 3:17 NLVDistances, measures and money are stated in such a way thattheycan be understood internationally. Example: dollars, gallonsandmiles are not used in many countries."What if a woman has ten silver pieces of money and loses oneofthem?" Luke 15:8a"Six water jars were there. Each one held about one-half barrelofwater." John 2:6a"That same day two of His followers were going to the townofEmmaus. It was about a two-hour walk from Jerusalem."Luke24:13
